Holly McClane: “They told me there were terrorists at the airport.”John McClane: “Yeah, I heard that too.”
Two years after the events of the first film – after terrorists commanded the Nakatomi Plaza Building, after John and Holly McClane repaired their broken marriage and after Alan Rickman fell off the skyscraper, John McClane is back fighting a terrorist organisation.
Grant: You’re the wrong guy in the wrong place at the wrong time.McClane: Story of my life.
This time – the action takes place at Washington International Airport.
Set on Christmas Eve like the first film, Die Hard 2 is just as explosive and violent as the original. The deaths are equally as gruesome – one man is even stabbed in the eye…
Waiting on Holly’s plane to arrive into the airport, John McClane comes across some suspicious activity and, of course, has to check it out and save the day.
Just once, I’d like a regular, normal Christmas. Eggnog, a fuckin’ Christmas tree, a little turkey. But no! I gotta crawl around in this motherfuckin’ tin can! – John McClane.
Alan Rickman’s villain in the original set the bar high for McClane’s next enemy however the villain in Die Harder is not as memorable or entertaining.
Not as clever or iconic as the original, Die Hard 2 still has some great lines and an action-packed story with just as much violence and gore as the first film.
Despite lacking in some elements, Die Hard 2 is a worthy sequel of a classic.
Yippie ki ya, motherfucker.
